ABOUT GABE

Gabe Rivas has forged a personal and professional journey that has been marked by his unwavering dedication to community engagement, strategic leadership, and public service.

In his role as the Director of Community Outreach for Tarrant County Commissioner Precinct 2, he’s acted as a link between government and the citizens it represents, managing outreach, projects, and constituent services. In this position, he coordinated with federal, state, and local entities, supporting community organizations and handling public policy concerns. Prior to this role, Gabe founded Rivas Political Management & Consulting, where, since 2013, he has provided political strategies, grassroots efforts, and digital media solutions for campaigns and candidates across North Texas.

Gabe's commitment to his extensive volunteer board service includes positions on the Levitt Pavilion Board, the Arlington Charities Board of Directors, and the Symphony Arlington Board, among many others. He is a product of Arlington ISD and the University of Texas at Arlington. He has received notable recognitions such as the Empowering Spirit of Cesar Chavez Award, the LULAC Texas Man of the Year award, and the Dallas Cowboys Silver Star for Dedication and Service. All these underscore his impactful contributions to the community.

Gabe demonstrates an exceptional commitment to community enrichment within the greater Arlington area, evidenced by his extensive volunteerism and leadership in numerous local organizations. His dedication is deeply rooted in fostering a stronger, more inclusive community for all residents. His involvement includes volunteer work with organizations such as the Arlington Wellness Coalition and the Arlington International Corridor Implementation Steering Committee, actively contributing to the strategic direction of vital community initiatives. He has also served on the Arlington 2025 Citizen Bond Committee, the Arlington ISD Citizens’ Bond Oversight Committee, and the Arlington Redistricting Taskforce, playing a direct role in shaping the city's future and ensuring equitable representation.

Beyond formal leadership, Gabe is a dedicated volunteer with Meals on Wheels of Tarrant County, the H.O.P.E. Tutoring Center, and the Arlington Levitt Pavilion, directly contributing to the well-being and cultural vibrancy of the community. His active participation in groups like the Young Men for Arlington (where he serves as a Board Member), the Rotary Club of Arlington, and the Arlington Latino Resource Coalition further underscores his broad engagement and leadership in diverse community sectors, consistently working to uplift and empower his fellow citizens.

Gabe is a member at First United Methodist Church of Arlington and is engaged to his fiancée, Leah Castillo. Together they have two children, Liam and Amelia. Despite his active involvement in the community, Gabe prioritizes his family, encouraging his children to participate in community service, teaching them the importance of giving back and contributing to the well-being of others.
